《失踪的美术史记忆第二回展》展示了文革美术专家王明贤多年来集艺术史研究、收藏和创作一体的工作成果,这些作品呈现出革命乌托邦的视觉图像,在当代艺术的语境中对红卫兵美术进行新的解读,形成历史和当下的对话。其中《红色乌托邦》系列,以文革初期的儿童积木为蓝本制作出的现代装置,可搭建成各式各样的革命建筑,全国人民认真的游戏,充满理想的游戏,又是疯狂的游戏,幼稚的游戏,或许是文化大革命的绝妙象征。漫画系列是对近乎绝迹的红卫兵美术(主要是漫画)所作的严肃的考古学研究,遒劲有力的红卫兵漫画与今天的现实时空错位,显得如此荒诞而又真实。王明贤还重写了一批俄罗斯名画,常常在风景的天际线附近加上中国的国家标志性建筑,营建超现实主义的“文化性空间”,表现那个时代两个区域在意识形态和国家文化形态上的互动关系,表面上看风景赏心悦目,隐藏在背后的则是文化史艺术史错综复杂的结构线索

.”The missing memory of the fine arts history- the second exhibition “which presents Wang Ming Xian’s achievements in the areas of art history research, collection and art creation. All the works show the visual images of revolution Utopia, they are new interpretation of Red Guards Arts and the communication between history and present. Series of “Red Utopia” is the modern installation which was made according to the prototype of building blocks from the early era of cultural revolution. Many kinds of revolution buildings could be made by these building blocks. It is the excellence symbol of revolution, for it is not only the serious and idealistic game of people throughout the country but also the crazy and naïve game for them. Comics series are serious archaeology study on the almost extinct Red Guards Arts , mainly about comics. The strong Red Guards Comics seems so fantastic but real under the background of current time. Meanwhile, Wang Minxian re-created several Russian famous paintings. In these paintings he added some Chinese national landmark buildings at the skyline of landscape in order to create a surrealistic cultural space. The feeling hidden in the back of the enjoyable view is a complicated structure of clues between culture and art histories which shows the interactive relationship in ideologies and culture pattern of two different areas at that time.
